Todd Johnson, MD

Orthopedic Surgeon - Sports Medicine

I am a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine. I also have leadership responsibilities as the Clinical Director of TRIA Woodbury and as the Vice Chair of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at HealthPartners. In my practice I treat shoulders, knees and hips with an emphasis on minimally-invasive arthroscopic procedures. I act as a team physician for North Saint Paul High School and regularly care for many of the St. Paul City School athletes. I enjoy educating patients about their condition, learning from their experience and helping them decide a treatment plan that suits their goals. I am excited to play a role in your comeback!

Personal Interests

  • I grew up in Alabama as the son of a small-town orthopaedic surgeon and participated in medical mission trips with my family and church. I enjoy playing basketball and was the Slam Dunk Champion at Princeton University in 2000 while an undergraduate. I live in St. Paul with my lovely wife and six wonderful children. I am a connoisseur of root beer and enjoy cooking and consuming Southern-style barbecue. As an avid Alabama football fan, I always enjoy hearing a good “Roll Tide!”
