Job Description:

Under the combined direction of the Director of Orthopedics the Senior Epic Specialist leverages in-depth clinical workflow knowledge to optimize end user EMR proficiency, build clinical documentation tools, and translate operational needs to help drive system and workflow solutions.

The Senior Epic Specialist pairs his or her understanding of the business vision and priorities along with his or her knowledge of the system to assist in implementing solutions, incorporating components into clinical operations, and creating exceptional experiences for our providers, staff and patients. The Senior Epic Specialist also participates in standard change management procedures and positively influences change for end users that maximizes the value of the system.


• Bachelor’s degree OR graduation from an accredited program in a health care field OR a minimum 4 years of experience in an IT and/or Business Analyst role may substitute for the associate’s degree requirement
• 5 years IT and/or Business Analyst or related experience
• Build experience with Epic clinical applications (e.g., EpicCare, MyChart, Beacon)

Special Knowledge/Skills/Certifications/Licenses:

• Knowledge of customer service principles
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical topics
• Ability to investigate, analyze, problem-solve and make independent decisions on moderately complex problems
• Ability to manage multiple simultaneous tasks and prioritize appropriately or ask for assistance when needed
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships and collaborate with all levels of staff including physicians and leaders
• Ability to plan, organize, direct, lead and influence groups
• Ability to be flexible and tolerant of ambiguous situations
• Ability to develop and provide training to various groups
• Current, valid, unrestricted driver’s license (in the state of residence) free of major traffic violations or a pattern of repeated violations for the last 3 years and daily access to a reliable, insured vehicle
