Overuse or weakness of the muscles surrounding the ankle or foot, which commonly occurs in repetitive sports, or in conjunction with other lower leg injuries due to muscular imbalances while healing.
- Pain with ankle motion or resisted kicking
- Typically involves one of the following tendons: Achilles, Peroneal or Posterior Tibialis
- May have difficulty walking, navigating stairs, or prolonged standing
A doctor may suggest icing and resting the foot or ankle or modifying activity.
