Da Beauty League – Team TRIA

It’s time again for Da Beauty League, and the second Team TRIA looks pretty impressive!

TRIA is proud to partner with Da Beauty League, a summer league for NHL players with a Minnesota connection. As part of this partnership, TRIA provides Athletic Trainers to the games at Braemar Arena. In addition, there is a team named after TRIA. Team TRIA includes: Adam Wilcox, Tommy Novak, Danny Kristo, Kyle Rau, Zach Parise, Justin Holl, T.J. Moore, Stephane Veilleux, Vinni Lettieri, Nick Leddy, Matt Hendricks, Matt Nelson, Parker Reno, Dustin Byfuglien, Zach Bogosian, and Chris Butler.

Athletic Trainer Chris Walker shares his thoughts on the team this year.

Team TRIA has tons of local ties again this year, highlighted by Zach Parise of the Minnesota Wild. Parise, an alternate captain for the Wild, is coming off of his 13th NHL season and continues to be vital part of the hometown team. Parise had a rough start to the season coming off of an injury, but found his stride late in the year as the Wild pushed for another run into the NHL playoffs.

The BIG part of Team TRIA is on the back end this year. Winnipeg Jets defenseman Dustin Byfuglien, or “Big Buff” will look to generate offense and occasionally remind players to keep their head up, as the big man is known to throw a hit or two during Da Beauty League games.

TRIA will also have a solid group of returners in “TRIA Blue,” including former Gophers Vinni Lettieri and Nick Leddy. Lettieri comes off of a productive season that included a callup to the New York Rangers. Leddy has just finished his fourth season with the New York Islanders.

Leddy and Lettieri are not the only former Gophers skating for TRIA this year. Adam Wilcox will stand in the crease for TRIA this summer. Wilcox, a South St. Paul native, has just completed his fourth professional season. Wilcox has played in the Tampa and Buffalo systems earning his first NHL game late this season with Buffalo.

Kyle Rau is another former Gopher and current Wild player who will represent Team TRIA. Rau, who captained the Gophers in ’13-’14 and ’14-’15, is now under contract with the Wild for the next two seasons.

Da Beauty League plays at Braemar Arena in Edina. Check out Da Beauty League’s page for schedules, tickets, and player information.
