Working closely with hand surgeons and other orthopaedic specialists, our hand therapists thoroughly assess the patient’s abilities and design an individualized treatment program that leads to restoration of optimal function. We also use specific protocol guidelines for many diagnoses to ensure best outcomes and continuity of care. Our outcomes meet or exceed nationally recognized standards for many diagnoses treated. Hand therapists at TRIA provide acute care for urgent needs, treatment for chronic problems, and post-operative management, providing therapy for all ages from children to adults.

Our approach is hands-on, but we also employ electrical and thermal modalities to enhance and increase the effectiveness of treatment. These may include paraffin, FluidotherapyTM, whirlpool, ultrasound, neuromuscular electric stimulation, Graston® instruments, and other therapeutic techniques.
Hand therapists at TRIA are occupational therapists who through continuing education and experience have established proficiency in treatment of hand and upper extremity diagnoses. Board Certified Hand Therapists (CHTs) have met professional test standards set by the Hand Therapy Certification Commission and have at least 5 years of experience in treatment of upper extremity conditions.
