Functional Movement Screen

Functional Movement Screen

TRIA Sports Medicine Specialists offer movement testing and evaluations for anyone recovering from an injury or simply looking to move and perform better. Our goal is to help athletes and weekend warriors alike demonstrate opportunities for improved movement during performance or activities of daily living.

What does a movement evaluation consist of?

Your evaluation will begin with a Functional Movement Screen (FMS). This is an assessment tool consisting of seven fundamental movement patterns that place and individual in positions where movement deficits become noticeable if the appropriate strength, stability and mobility are not present.

What do my results tell me?

Results will be used to identify any asymmetries, imbalances or weakness in your movement patterns. You will receive corrective exercises and/or training techniques to help improve your efficiency of movement, performance and reduce the risk of potential injury. Recommendations will be made if any further evaluation or training sessions are needed.

What should I wear?

Dress in normal comfortable workout clothes. You should wear the shoes you normally wear for activity.

How long does it take?

Your visit will take up to an hour, but may vary depending on individual results.

How much does it cost?

  • Initial screen and consultation – $75
  • Follow-up session – $50
